A life well lived is a precious gift
Of hope and strength and grace,
From someone who has made our world
A brighter, better place
It’s filled with moments, sweet and sad
With smiles and sometimes tears,
With friendships formed and good times shared
And laughter through the years.
A life well lived is a legacy
Of joy and pride and pleasure,
A living, lasting memory
Our grateful hearts will treasure.

2nd U.S. CAVALRY Co. A / 9th VA CAVALRY Co. D 1776 Virginia Light Horse

The 2nd U.S. Cavalry, Company A/9th Regiment Virginia Cavalry, Company D, is a mounted reenactment and living history group dedicated to accurately portraying U.S. Regular Cavalry and Confederate troopers during the American Civil War. Our members live in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.  We participate in battle reenactments, living histories for the National Park Service, and tactical events throughout the year. Mounted and dismounted impressions are welcome. See the links below for more information on our unit and our activities.
